HOW TO GET TO THE CASTLE:

By Car: From Glasgow it is about 3 hours to Campbeltown. The most direct route is via the Erskine Bridge, then taking the A82 along Loch Lomond to Tarbert; then the A83 via Inverary and Lochgilphead. The drive from Lock Lomond onwards takes in some spectacular mountain and coastal views, passing lochs including Loch Fyne (well worth a stop at the Loch Fyne shop and restaurant for local produce) and finishing the journey along the stunning Atlantic coastline.

By Car and Ferry: From Ardrossan, Ayrshire, you can take the ferry to Brodick, Isle of Arran (50 minutes). Then leave from Lochranza on the other side of Arran by ferry to Claonaig in North Kintyre (30 minutes, and not bookable in advance). The ferry from Ardrossan should be booked in advance but it is worth noting that the Claonaig ferry can be rather weather dependent.

By Bus: From Glasgow there is a regular 3 times daily bus service on very comfortable coaches. Travel time is approximately 4.5 hours.

By Air: From Glasgow airport there are two flights daily to Campbeltown Airport near Campbeltown http://www.hial.co.uk/campbeltown-airport/ Car Hire is available with collection from the Airport but should be booked in advance.

By Sea: Yacht berthing pontoons are installed in Campbeltown harbour. Contact Campbeltown Marina for more information.
